Game Testing
Game Testing is essentially for every game and every designer should go trough the stage of game testing.I read two articles one is called "7 different types of Game Testing"which I found very interesting I think that this article has all the types of testing that you can pick from to test your game.
1)"Functionality testing:This type of testing is done to confirm whether the end product works following the specifications."
2)"Combinatorial testing:By making use of this method, you can effortlessly test the game rapidly in its earliest stages. Initially, the initial step is to discover how much testing your game necessitates."
3)"Ad Hoc Testing:Ad hoc testing often referred as ‘’general testing’’ is a less structured way of testing and it is randomly done on any section of the gaming application."
4)"Compatibility Testing:Compatibility testing aims to detect any defects in the functionality and shows if the final product meets the essential requirements of the software, hardware, and graphics.
5)"Clean Room and Tree Testing:Clean room test helps to ensure the consistency as well as reliability of the gaming software. The aim of conducting this clean room testing is to produce a product with negligible errors."
6)"Regression Testing:It is used to scrutinise the functionality of the complete features of the gaming application. "
7)Performance Testing:Performance testing is used to determine the application’s overall performance under real-time scenarios and load."
Also the video I have watched is really good it explains about game testing. What I learned from that video is that we all need to test our game at different stages of development in order to understand what needs to be fixed and developed because when we create a game we have to adapt it for the person that is playing it.He was also saying that it is a lot better to bring someone and let them experience what it is like to play the game and what person likes and what are the things that need to be changed or improve to make your game better and satisfy users that would be playing it.Overall I really liked this reading because it is very relevant to what I am doing know in terms of creating my game and what I am thinking is to get my 10 year old brother to test my game and I want to see his reaction ad what he is gonna like and dislike about my game.
