Reading 4

Image Link  This week I have completed the rest of the academic readings. The biggest difficulty I have faced was to understand what exactly the reading is talking about and how to write an overview of what you have read. The second thing was that I got stuck and I couldn't find any more relative papers based on my topic which is Level design process in games but then I used research-gate which I found really helpful and it really helped me with completion of the readings that I had left to do.Overall I am happy with what I have written I think that I have collected a lot of relevant information based on my topic and a learned a lot about level design and things that are involved in the process of creating a game.   Readings! “Bad Level design can ruin a good game”. Which means that game level design is as strong as a game design. Which shows us that level design and game design are pretty much equal in terms of development of the game. Even though they are not identical, but th...

"Feedback Strategies"

Image
Today I read two articles about how to give feedback which I thought were really interesting and helpful because I personally not always sure how to give proper feedback and be as constructive as possible. The first article I have read is called "Try feed Forward Instead of Feedback" by Marshall Goldsmith providing feedback was always considered to be essential for the leaders and I personally think that it is very important I really liked few examples that were in the article for example "Face it!Most of us hate getting negative feedback ,and we don't like to give it".I think it is very important to give negative feedback if we need to and it is very important for people to consider negative feedback as something that can help them to improve and develop their skills. The other one I liked was feedforward tends to be more efficient than feedback I think that giving ideas rather than just saying it bad is a lot helpful and I think we all need an alternative.     ...

"Unity Tutorial"

Image
Today I was doing Unity tutorials and finally finished the little car game we were doing in tutorials last week and this week I did the third part of the game which was the final one. I also did another tutorial where we had to practice getting the plane moving and try to work with the script ourselves which I think was great because it helped me to understand Unity better and how the scripts are working. For the plain tutorial we had to properly position the camera and also make the plain moving in right direction. There was a very interesting bonus task where you had to get the propeller rotating that actually took me a good bit of time to complete but I was very happy when I eventually got it working .I think this Unity tutorials Where definitely helpful and very informative for beginners this tutorials really helped me to learn how to work with Unity and how to I would not say create but fix little problems in the game and maybe to get the object moving or the plane flying.Im looki...

"Game Elements"

Image
Image Link Hi Everyone! Today I will be discussing two articles that I had read and I will share my thoughts about them. The first article I read was "What are the quality of games" this article was very interesting and it show that there is a lot individual and little thing that are involved into the game creation. As it was said I the article none of the game definitions are perfect but we can gain some potential ideas of what we might use or add when we are creating our own games. I also think that critical analysis is very important for the games because that the only way to see what can be improved or added into the game to make it more satisfying for the player. And I also agree with the statement that critical analysis is useful when discussing or examining the game. I really liked the video because it was very informative and covers things that you should follow when designing your own game.I like the example they showed in the video a little paper mockup where they  c...
